Blue Fish Lodge, a resort in Mangochi, has committed to support 13-year-old Favor Mapondo by covering all her education expenses.
Favor, who has been selected to start Form 1 at Jalira High School in Rumphi, faced financial challenges that prevented her parents from meeting her school needs.
The Lodge’s Executive Manager, Allie Mwachande, said the decision is part of the lodge’s ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives.
“The girl was attending Koche Model School and passed her Standard 8 with high grades, earning A’s. We decided to assist her with everything she needs to complete her secondary education,” said Mwachande.
