National Bank of Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Mzuzu University Vice Chancellor’s Trophy, to the tune of K7 million.
This follows a successful partnership last year, which yielded positive outcomes for both the bank and the university.
Samson Mzungu, National Bank’s Service Centre Manager for Mzuzu, described the collaboration as “fruitful,” highlighting the mutual benefits.
“We’ve opened bank accounts for numerous university students, while the college has seen academic and sporting improvements,” he explained.
Mzuzu University Vice Chancellor, Professor Wales Singini, expressed gratitude for the bank’s support, citing the tournament’s role in reorganizing their team.
“This partnership will help us qualify for the SIMSO and Mzuzu 12 Northern Region Football Premier League next season, after an embarrassing relegation this year,” he said.
The K7 million will carter for all the sporting disciplines including football, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball and Hockey among others.
