Mwakifwamba Youth Club advocates for a clean environment

Mwakifwamba Youth Club in Karonga District has called on the country’s youth to participate in clean-up exercises within their communities.

The club’s Secretary, Lucky Mwakasungula, made the appeal during a clean-up campaign organised at Karonga Market in collaboration with the Malawi Red Cross.

“It is important that the youth in the country take part in efforts to keep their surroundings clean. Young people are energetic and are key stakeholders in the development of this country,” Mwakasungula stated.

Karonga’s Acting District Commissioner, Frank Mkandawire, urged the young people to adopt a positive mindset in order to achieve the Malawi 2063 .

Senior Chief Karonga expressed gratitude to Mwakifwamba Youth Club for its initiative.

On the 12th of every month, Karonga District Council conducts a clean-up exercise at Karonga main market.
