MRA beats 2023-24 revenue target

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has beaten the 2023-24 fiscal year revenue collection target by K5.933 billion.

In the fiscal year, which ended at the end of last month, MRA planned to collect K2.180 trillion but it has collected K2.186 trillion.

According to information posted on the tax collecting body’s website, the revenue represents an increase of 42 percent year on year.

MRA Commissioner General John Bizwick said the development is on the back of compliant tax payers among others.
