The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is set to hold a series of meetings aimed at briefing District Commissioners and Officers In-Charge of police stations on their roles and responsibilities in the upcoming 2025 Tripartite Elections.
According to a statement from the electoral body, signed by its Chief Elections Officer, Andrew Mpesi, the schedule includes meetings for the Southern Region on 15 April, 2024 in Blantyre, and meetings for the Eastern Region are set for 16 April 2024 in Zomba.
For the Central Region, the meetings are set to take place in Lilongwe on 18 April 2024. MEC will conclude the meetings on 22 April 2024 in Mzuzu for the Northern Region stakeholders.
The agenda of the meetings will also include discussions on electoral laws, the state of readiness for the 2025 Tripartite Elections, and a review of past election challenges.
