Karonga United returns to winning ways

Karonga United have returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Moyale FC at Karonga Stadium on Sunday.

Blessings Mwalilino opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, assisted by Victor Chirambo.

After the halftime break, Moyale Barracks applied pressure and made four substitutions but the changes failed to meet expectations.

Karonga sealed their victory in the 93rd minute with a volley from Allen Chihana, which thundered past Moyale’s goalkeeper, Simeon Harawa.

Karonga United’s Assistant Coach, Crespo Chinkwita, described the result as crucial to their standings on the TNM Super League log table, where they now stand 10th with 12 points.

Moyale Barracks’ Coach, Pritchard Mwansa, attributed their defeat to poor performance.

Karonga United has been struggling with form and the latest victory is only their third of the season.

Their last win was on April 28, 2024, a 3-1 victory against Mighty Tigers.

This season, they have lost 4 games and drawn 3 games so far.
