Jenda Police nets two unlicensed hemp possessors

Police at Jenda in Mzimba District have arrested two individuals on suspicion of possessing marijuana without proper licencing.

Macfarlane Mseteka, the Jenda Police spokesperson, said they first arrested 49-year-old Albert Nyirenda at Ehehleni following a tip that he was allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Upon investigation, they discovered that Nyirenda was cultivating four Indian hemp trees without the required licence.

Later, the law enforcers pounced on 45-year-old Daniel Nkhata for being in possession of 500 grams of drugs without documentation.

Mseteka said the suspects will be brought before the court soon after investigations are completed.
