Moyale Barracks Assistant Coach Victor Chingoka has attributed the team’s success in their first super league game this season to hard work.
He said this after securing a victory against fellow soldiers, Malawi Armed Forces College Football Club (MAFCO FC) yesterday at Mzuzu Stadium.
MAFCO FC took the lead in the 36th minute, with Bernard Chimayimba scoring the opening goal from a set piece.
However, Moyale FC continued to battle fiercely and their determination paid off in the 75th minute when Charles Nkhoma equalized with a free kick.
Moyale maintained their pressure and two minutes before full time, Raphael Phiri sealed the victory with another goal, securing a 2-1 win.
After the match, Charles Nkhoma of Moyale was named the man of the match.
MAFCO Coach Stereo Gondwe attributed their defeat to what he called ‘poor officiation’.
