Organisers for the first-ever Mzuzu City half Marathon have appealed to the corporate world to come in and support the initiative which is expected to take place on Sunday the 5 March 2023.
Chairperson of the Organising Committee Peter Mumba said everything is set but the budget is likely going to be affected because the resources are not coming in as expected.
“Our initial budget is K30 million we expected to raise this money through different companies that will come to sponsor the event, but as of today, only three companies have managed to support us. We would like to urge the companies to still come in and support this first-ever Mzuzu Half Marathon,” said Mumba.
The Officials say at the moment, Medhealth, Rab Processors and Itel are the only ones that have supported the programme.
The organising committee have also disclosed that winners from position one up to 10 will be awarded for both men and women categories. Apart from that, the winner that will beat the one hour, 20 minutes and four seconds will also get an extra K500 thousand kwacha.
