COMFWB empowers over 450 female entrepreneurs

COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi Chapter has empowered over 450 women entrepreneurs with knowledge in various business improvement areas, including trade, product improvement and capacity-strengthening activities.

The Chapter’s National Coordinator, Raymond Kapalamula, made the remarks in Lilongwe during an advocacy review meeting.

According to Kapalamula, COMFWB Malawi Chapter’s advocacy programme was rolled out to women entrepreneurs in Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, Dedza and Karonga.

The Federation is working in partnership with the Graça Machel Trust, the main implementor of the Women Creating Wealth Programme, to provide training and support to women entrepreneurs.

According to Cleopatra Ngulube, Advocacy and Policy Manager for the Graça Machel Trust, their partnership focuses on training trainers of trainers on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

This initiative aims to equip women entrepreneurs with knowledge about the conditions and provisions of the AfCFTA.
