CIVIL SOCIETY WEIGHS IN ON KAPONDAMGAGA’S REINSTATEMENT

A civil rights organization called Independent Civil Society Members says it fully supports the reinstatement of the Chief of Staff for State Residences Prince Kampondamgaga.

Addressing journalists in Blantyre, one of the members, Ceaser Kondowe, hailed the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for acting according to the law on Kapondamgaga’s corruption allegations.

Flanked by veteran governance experts Unandi Banda and Caleb Ng’ombo, the group also commended President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for not meddling in ACB’s affairs.

“Instead, the President has provided adequate resources for the bureau’s operations,” he said.

Last year, Dr Chakwera relieved Kapondamgaga of his duties to pave the way for the ACB to conduct investigations without interference.
