Mobile telecommunications company, TNM, has donated K5 million to Lilongwe Roundtable 32, a fellowship organisation of young men who are involved in charity projects.
They made the donation in Mangochi today where Lilongwe Roundtable 32 organised a charity golf tournament whose proceeds will go towards provision of access to clean and potable water for communities that were affected by disasters in the country.
“So if organisations come to say they want to support the rural community, we come and offer support as part of corporate social responsibility,” acting Chief Human Resource Officer for TNM, Harriet Marrian, said.
Chairperson for Lilongwe Roundtable 32, Jonas Sani, said through the golf tournament, they have managed to raise about K8 million and their aim is to mobilize close to K100 million.
“Last year we managed to raise over K200 Million and used the money to drill 20 boreholes, purchased 19 irrigations kits which impacted over 50 thousand households in different communities,” Sani said.
