President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has left the country via the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe for Nairobi, Kenya to attend the World Bank’s International Development Association Summit.
The invitation was extended by Kenya’s President, William Ruto.
The invite follows the recent approval by the World Bank of K100 billion to aid Malawi’s efforts in achieving food security, particularly after the declaration of disaster due to the El Niño phenomenon affecting 23 districts.
Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and several cabinet ministers were at the airport to see off the President.
Dr. Chakwera is scheduled to return to Malawi tomorrow at 5pm.
