CEED recognizes outstanding secondary school teachers and students

The Central East Education Division (CEED) has honoured 56 secondary school teachers and six students for their exceptional performance in the 2022 and 2023 Malawi Schools Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.

In the 2022 MSCE exams, 27 teachers and 4 students stood out, with educators from Mvera CDSS in Dowa and Loyola Jesuits Secondary in Kasungu leading in the CDSS and conventional secondary categories.

Brenda Zavuta from Loyola Secondary was named the overall best teacher in 2022.

Sister Theresa Kathumba from Loyola claimed the title of overall best teacher in 2023 as her teaching skills resulted in 111 students achieving distinctions and 23 scoring strong credits.

Zizwa Msukuma, Director of Teacher Education and Development at the Ministry of Education, has commended the Division for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of such awards in motivating others, promoting good practices and exhibiting ethical leadership.

Various schools, including CDSS, conventional and national secondary schools like Mponela, Malowa, Chipoka, Nkhotakota, Nkhamenya Girls, Mbomba and Kafukule were also recognised in their respective categories.
