CDH Bank donates K5 million to two orphanages

CDH Investment Bank women have donated K2.5 million each to the orphanages Step Kids Awareness (STEKA) Trust in Nyambadwe, Blantyre and Mama Berna Foundation in Area 23, Lilongwe, as part of Mother’s Day commemorations.

CDH Investment Bank Assistant Manager for Risk and Compliance, Loveness Sitima, said the move is aimed at helping the children during Mother’s Day period so that they feel maternal love.

“Though not enough, the gesture will hopefully make them feel there are women who care,” Sitima said.

Founder of STEKA, Godknows Maseko, said the donation will help in paying tuition fees for some of the children who are in colleges and secondary schools.

Bertha Kapalanga, the Founder of Mama Berna Foundation, said the funds will be used to buy cement for the dwelling house project at the orphanage.

“This is the largest donation we have received,” Kapalanga said.
