Malawi Congress Party (MCP) legislator for Ntcheu North constituency, Lymon Zimphondo, has urged the people of Ntcheu to register for the forthcoming voter registration exercise, set to begin in November 2024.
Zimphondo made the remarks at a development rally held at Magombo Village, in the area of Chief Chakhumbira within the district.
He emphasised that those who register will be eligible to vote in next year’s general elections.
Zimphondo also called upon traditional leaders to mobilise eligible members in their communities to turn out in large numbers for registration.
In response to concerns raised by traditional leaders regarding the ongoing hunger crisis, Zimphondo assured the gathering that the government would soon begin distributing relief items to affected households in the district.
Meanwhile, Henry Gomani, MCP Ntcheu North Chairman, encouraged party supporters to remain united.
