Car-Free Day this Friday

Car-Free Day, meant to promote sustainable transportation, reduce air pollution and encourage healthier lifestyles, championed by the Roads Safety Alert Foundation (ROSAF), is on this Friday.

The day encourages citizens to leave their vehicles, excluding emergency vehicles, at home and opt for walking, cycling, or public transportation for their daily commute.

ROSAF Executive Director, Joel Jere, said this year’s Car-Free Day will feature a variety of activities, including a sweeping exercise at the Lilongwe City Council premises.

Car-Free Day was first commemorated in the country last year.
