African Development Bank (AfDB) has given grants to Malawi worth $54 million for various development projects, President of the bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, confirmed this.
He made the announcement during the Malawi Partners conference held in New York, USA.
Dr Adesina assured Malawi of the bank’s continued support towards various development initiatives.
Finance Minister, Simplex Chithyola Banda, said $30 million will be for the Budget Support, $23 million for Agriculture Productivity and Commercialization Project (APCP) while $1 million is meant for Emergency Response to procure food for distribution by the Department of Disaster Management Affairs.
