Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) 19th plenary Assembly and Golden Jubilee celebrations have commenced at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
Archbishop George Desmond Tambala of Lilongwe Archdiocese, who is president of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi is leading the event.
Archbishop Gian Luca Perici, Papal Nuncio to Malawi and Zambia is also in attendance.
The 19th Plenary Assembly and Golden Jubilee celebrations will take place from 19th – 24th August.
ACWECA is a regional body comprising National Associations of Sisterhoods from English speaking countries of Eastern and Central Africa including Malawi.
