Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) says the Malawi National Electronic Procurement System (maneps) in bidding for the supply of goods and services to the government is a corruption-free system, as it is automated with no direct interaction between bidders and PPDA staff.
Speaking during a training session for staff on the system, PPDA Communications and Public Relations Manager, Mande Pondani, said the authority will also establish digital hubs in all councils across the country by the end of the year to support entrepreneurs in accessing procurement opportunities.
One of the participants, Gift Mwambinga, said the system is transparent and serves time to the business community.
