Communities in Nkhata Bay have said morning talk sessions prior to Climate Smart Enhanced Public Works Programme (CSE-PWP) activities have helped improve safety.
A representative for Lifutazi catchment in the area of Senior chief Mankhambira, Phillip Banda, affirmed that they have witnessed decreased incidents among communities.
Chipping in, representative for Kavuzi catchment in the area of Traditional Authority Thula, Robert Nyirenda said the talks have not only reduced incidents in their catchment but also fostered team work, improved relationships and compliance.
CSE-PWP is aimed at conserving environment and is a component of Social Support for Resilient Livelihood Programme, which is being implemented by the Malawi Government through the National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) with support from World Bank and Multi Donor Trust Fund.
