Iceland PM leaves Malawi

Prime Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson, has left the country for Iceland after a five day working visit.

Benediktsson has left through Kamuzu International Airport, where he was seen off by Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima, Secretary to President and Cabinet Colleen Zamba, Foreign Affairs Minister Nancy Tembo, among others.

While in Malawi, Benediktsson held bilateral talks with President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, attended the official opening of the 9th African Population Conference and visited Iceland-funded projects in Mangochi.

The development partnership between Malawi and the nordic island nation dates back to 1989.
