The youth have been advised to view arts and culture as a viable business which can help uplift their lives.
Businessperson and philanthropist, Charles Zimba made the remarks during the Mbumba Arts and Culture Festival, which was held at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.
“When they [youth] start taking arts as a business, they learn how to turn passion into profit,” said Zimba, who serves as the CEO of SICO Holdings.
He said the world has witnessed a huge growth in the creative economy.
During the festival, which drew participants mostly from the northern region — showcased traditional dances, local cuisine, and performances by popular musicians such as Henry Czar and Eli Njuchi.
