Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) has concluded a week-long Youth Group summer camp, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills to tackle daily challenges.
Held at Chikwawa Secondary School, the camp brought together 99 youths from various schools, comprising 50 boys and 49 girls, who underwent training on critical topics, including sexual reproductive health, mental health, and life skills.
MRCS President Innocent Majiya said the camp is significant in fostering a vibrant and productive youth and noted that the initiative aligns with Enabler 5 of the Malawi 2063 agenda, which focuses on investing in human capital.
Catherine Gangu, a participant from Mitondo Secondary School, expressed her gratitude for the camp, stating that the knowledge gained will enable her to make informed decisions and overcome challenges on various issues.
Since its inception in 2015, the MRCS youth camp initiative has benefited over 600 young people. The organization is committed to supporting government efforts in creating a vibrant youth population by 2030.
