Kaunda made these remarks at Area 30 in Lilongwe during the unveiling of Jiabaili Supermarket’s K6 million sponsorship to the Blue Eagles Volleyball Team ahead of the 2025 season.

Handing over the cheque, Jiabaili Supermarket Executive Manager, Steven Ji, said he found it worthwhile to support the team following its tremendous performance last season.

James Kaunda, President of the Volleyball Association of Malawi, expressed gratitude to Jiabaili for empowering the team and called on more sponsors to support volleyball in the country.

The Blue Eagles men’s volleyball team finished second to Moyale Barracks in the national tournament last season, while the ladies’ team secured third place.
