UMP Awards decorates MBC presenters

Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Radio 2 presenters Joy Nathu and Mwai Simbota have been named Best Male DJ and Best Female DJ at the 2025 UMP Awards.

Meanwhile, musician Patience Namadingo stands out as the biggest winner, securing four major awards across music and humanitarian categories.

He has won the Best Humanitarian, Best Live Act, Song of the Year (Tuli) and Artist of the Year (Male).

On the other hand, other musicians like Eli Njuchi and Tay Grin have won two awards each.

Eli has won the Best Afrobeats/Fusion Act and Album/EP of the Year (CIFU), while Tay has won the Tourism Promotion Award and the Global Impact Award.

Toast has won the Best Hip-Hop/Rap Act of the Year and rappers, Mario Bros, have won Best Duo and their fanbase, Abale, has won Best Fans of the Year. Joe Ikon has won the Best Amapiano Act.

Jetu has won as the Best Artist of the Year (Female).

Best New Artists of the Year at the 2025 UMP Awards, Lady Aika (Female) and Chain Oh Abebu (Male).
