Jamaican roots reggae singer Winston Rodney, popularly known as Burning Spear, has arrived in the country through Kamuzu International Airport for his ‘One people One Africa Tour’ which is slated for Saturday 26 October at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
He was welcomed by the Presidential Advisor on Arts, Q Malewezi, various reggae artists and Rastafarians, led by their Chairman and Chief Priest of Kawale Nyahbinghi House, Fred Mwanamanga.
The 79-year-old artist, who is bidding farewell to his fans through the tour which has already taken him to South Africa, Kenya and Zimbabwe, is a Rastafarian and one of the most influential and long-standing roots artists who emerged from the 1970s.
In 2016, he announced his initial retirement but bounced back in 2022.
