Southern Region Water Board (SRWB) has vowed to continue being open to the public in its operations through the media.
SRWB Chief Executive Officer, Duncan Chambamba, said this on Friday in Zomba during an interaction with senior media practitioners from various media houses.
Chambamba disclosed that as one of the utility service providers in the country, it has registered significant progress over the years.
He said SRWB now has 90,000 customers, a rise from 57,000 in 2020. He added that during the same period, the water utility has grown its revenue from K8.3 billion in December 2020 to K17.1 billion as of December this year.
“Things have greatly improved over the past years,” he said.
He has therefore described the media as a strategic partner hence then need for continued good working relationships enjoyed over the years for the benefit of the public.
SRWB is one the five water boards in the country.
