People’s Party (PP) president, Dr Joyce Banda, says it is important to impart skills to communities, particularly youth, that can improve their livelihoods.
She was speaking during a rally at Uliwa Primary School Ground aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots presence.
“I feel pain when I see the youth failing to support themselves because they lack skills when they have the potential to be self reliant,” Dr Banda said.
Earlier, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Ackson Kalaile Banda, urged the youth to explore ways of supporting themselves rather than relying on government’s assistance alone.
The rally saw 238 new members join PP.
