SDA CHURCHES  HOLD REVIVAL WEEK AHEAD OF  CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

The Seventh Day Adventist Church will in September this year hold a centenary celebration and with that in focus several SDA churches are holding week-long revival meetings in their respective areas.

The church is calling on Malawians to advance the Great Commission of spreading the gospel of Christ to the entire country. The church believes that if the masses lead a prayerful life, they will have hope to face the challenges they face in life.

The call comes as the SDA  Church in Blantyre will this year celebrate 100 years since the arrival of God’s Advent Message through Chiwembe SDA Church in September 1923.

Mavuto Wiseman Bello, Vice-chairman of the Organizing Committee told MBC Online that ahead of the celebrations in September, the Church through its Organizing Committee will run a revival week from 4 March 2023 ending with a Big Sabbath at COMESA Hall in Blantyre on 11 March 2023.

Bello said the aim of the revival week is for members of the church and all Malawians to fellowship together and preach the Gospel.

The revival week will be held under the theme, “BLANTYRE, MALAWI DZUKA, YESU AKUBWERANSO POSACHEDWA”.

“Among other things, we have organized special sermons through Bible sharing by the President of the Malawi Union of the Seventh Day Adventist, Pastor Tony Yolamu Nyirenda and other evangelists like Dr Ernest Kaonga.

“We are hopeful and believe that many people will come to COMESA Hall because it is very central in Blantyre along the Chipembere Highway and easy to spot without getting lost. For other motorists, we have plenty of parking space there, and public transport is easier to get by,” said Bello.

Bello added that the Advent Message arrived In Blantyre via Chiwembe SDA Church in September 1923 where people got baptized and opened a prayer house that still stands today and has also opened branches within its jurisdiction.
