Rumphi DC challenges teacher students

District Commissioner for Rumphi, Emmanuel Bulukutu, has urged Rumphi Teachers Training College students who will start writing their final Malawi National Examinations Board Examinations next week to make a difference in communities they will serve.

Bulukutu disclosed this on Friday during a farewell party for 534 students at the college campus after two years of their studies.

He said the teaching profession requires a lot of sacrifice, passion and dedication in order to make a positive impact in their learners and communities.

Principal for the College, Wisdom Nkhoma said the students have been equiped with knowledge and skills to teach at any level in primary school.

Student Council representative, Sengerewayo Wilikani, said the students have acquired many skills during their studies including entrepreneurial and vocational in addition to teaching which they will use for personal and community development.

The college also awarded outstanding students with Yamikani Manda, a young lady who emerged as the most outstanding student.

The college was officially opened by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera on March 13, 2024 and enrolls 600 students.
