PRISAM President dangles another K5 million for JCE top performers

President of Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM), Ernest Kaonga, has announced an additional incentive of K5 million for five male students who will emerge outstanding in the 2024 Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examination.

The extension follows his initial pledge of K1 million to each of the five top-performing female students.

On June 4, 2024, Kaonga committed to rewarding the five highest-scoring girls in this year’s JCE examination. The male students, however, felt sidelined.

Responding to the feedback, Kaonga, on June 5, 2024, announced a further K5 million for the five male students who will be outstanding in this year’s JCE examination.

“I am a person who values listening, and I deemed it appropriate to include boys as well. Therefore, I can confirm that I have set aside a total of K10 million for the ten students, five boys and five girls, who will attain highest scores in this year’s JCE examination,” said Kaonga.

He further emphasized the importance of encouraging both genders, saying, “It is imperative to inspire both male and female students equally, as they represent future leaders of our nation.”
