A 35-year-old Health Surveillance Assistant, Ishmael Chisemphere, is currently in custody in Kasungu for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl.
Sergeant Miracle Mkozi, Deputy Publicist for Kasungu Police Station, disclosed that Chisemphere, employed at Nkhamenya Hospital, is alleged to have committed the offense on the night of January 19, 2024.
Following a report to the police, the victim underwent a medical examination at Kaluluma, which confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.
Chisemphere, a resident of Chisemphere Village, Traditional Authority Chisemphere in Kasungu, will appear in court to face charges of rape.
