Principal Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Lucky Sikwese, says the government remains committed to addressing challenges people face when accessing public services.
Sikwese has said this in Lilongwe during a Government Empowerment Network workshop.
He said this will be done by strengthening the leadership skills and capacity of public officers to champion reforms.
Sikwese said the initiative aims to improve public sector performance by championing government reforms and streamlining operations of ministries to enhance service delivery.
Executive Director for the African Institute for Development Policy, Eliya Zulu, described the programme as critical to ensuring effective policy implementation and achieving lasting impact adding the country must move from rhetoric to action.
Chief Executive Officer for Instiglio, Avnish Gungadurdoss, says the initiative will promote a mindset shift among public officers, encouraging them to actively solve problems, improve public sector performance and strengthen service delivery.
About 35 senior civil servants from six ministries and four councils and one agency are part of the first cohort of the Government Empowerment Network.
The initiative has been organised by the Office of the President and Cabinet in collaboration with instiglio.
