PDU to launch Tourism Delivery Lab

Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) plans to establish a Tourism Delivery Lab in June this year, with a view of addressing challenges the tourism sector faces.

Head of PDU, Janet Banda SC, who is also the Deputy Secretary to the President and Cabinet, revealed this in Lilongwe during a Pre-Lab meeting with players in the tourism sector.

“This is a directive from President Dr Lazurus Chakwera, who believes that Agriculture, Tourism and Mining are holding keys to the country’s economic growth,” said Banda.

Chauncy Simwaka, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, acknowledged that transport challenges are affecting the sector.

The PDU believes that the Pre-Lab meeting will give direction on the development of tourism for the country.
