Parliamentary Service Week gets K5 million boost

National Bank of Malawi has donated K5 million towards the recently launched Parliamentary Week.

Presenting the cheque at Parliament Building, National Bank’s Lilongwe Service Centre Manager, Maureen Gwembere said Parliament is a critical arm of government and the bank is impressed with the line-up of events that have been scheduled during the Parliamentary Week.

“We understand Parliament is slated to visit Malingunde School for the Blind in Lilongwe, this really touched our hearts hence the support,” said Gwembere.

Head of Parliament Services who is also the chairperson for Parliamentary Week Services, Lovemore Nyongo, urged other companies to replicate the gesture.

The Parliamentary Service Week is aimed at raising awareness among the public to on the roles of legislators and Parliament.
