Ombudsman Malera preaches servant leadership

Malawi’s Ombudsman Grace Malera has challenged the new leadership of District 412B and Lilongwe Lions Club to exercise servant leadership in executing their duties.

She made the call in Lilongwe during the installation of District 412B governors and the Lions Club of Capital City 46th Charter dinner.

Malera said over the years, the impact of Lions clubs in the country has been outstanding in supporting the health sector, youth empowerment, and environmental conservation.

“This is why I am encouraging the new leadership of the Lions Clubs to approach things from a servant leadership position,” she said.

Lion Linda Goodman, who is the new District Governor for District 412B of Malawi and Mozambique, said her theme is serving together with a focus on promoting togetherness among Lions.

“During my tenure of office we are going to focus on two key issues of diabetes and childhood cancer and we have planned on three major events in the three regions of the country,” said Goodman.

On his part new president of Lions Club Capital City Lion Washington Kaimvi whose theme is unity for service, disclosed that his plan is to ensure that he links his club with other clubs in Malawi and beyond.
