Ntchisi Police hunt grave exhumers

Police in Ntchisi have launched a manhunt for unknown assailants who exhumed a person with albinism and took out the bones in Mzumanzi Village in the area of Senior Chief Malenga.

The deceased’s brother, Chitimbe Mkampheni, saw that the suspects had been tampered with the grave and reported the matter to the Village Headman, who informed the police.

Police visited the scene where they found the tombstone broken and the grave dug up and some body parts missing.

Ntchisi Police publicist, Salome Zgambo, said Mkampheni’s brother was buried in 2002.

The remains have been taken to Ntchisi District Hospital, where they are being kept pending reburial.
