NAM allocates over half of Salima Sugar Netball League Funds to prize money

Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has allocated over 50 percent of the K80 million from the Salima Sugar Netball League to prize money for this year’s tournament, which will be launched tomorrow, Saturday.

NAM has earmarked K18.2 million for the national level, with the national champions set to receive K6 million.

At the district level, K24 million kwacha has been allocated while K10.2 million is designated for the regional level.

K750,000 will go towards individual prizes and K10.4 million has been set aside for officiation, equipment and logistics. Additionally, K15 million will be used for administration.

According to NAM General Secretary, Yamikani Kauma, the sponsors’ decision to double the prize money to K80 million will significantly enhance the tournament’s value.

Last year, Blue Eagles Sisters were crowned champions after beating their Reserve side 37-28.
