Mzuzu Catholic Diocese urges Malawi to seek God’s intervention

The Mzuzu Catholic Diocese has encouraged all denominations in the country to seek God’s intervention for various social challenges facing the nation.

Auxiliary Bishop Yohane Nyirenda made the call during Sunday Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Mzuzu which was attended by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera.

Auxiliary Bishop Nyirenda, who led the service, began by recognising President Chakwera’s presence, noting that a leader who seeks God is a blessing to the nation.

He stressed that while God uses leaders as channels for answers, He is the ultimate source of breakthroughs and urged the faith community to pray for their leaders, asking for divine wisdom as they guide the nation.

Regarding the partnership with the government in implementing various developmental programs, Auxiliary Bishop Nyirenda said that the diocese continues to build schools, hospitals, and other projects to improve the livelihoods of Malawians.

St. Peter’s Catholic Church has 1,600 members, and the service of worship was also attended by chiefs, government officials, and clergy from other churches.
