Moyale, Silver play to a stalemate

Moyale Barracks and Silver Strikers finished their first round of the TNM Super League with a 0-0 draw in a highly anticipated match at Mzuzu Stadium.

Both teams fielded strong line-ups, with Moyale Barracks featuring Oliseh Nkhwazi between the sticks , Lovemore Jere, Maneno Nyoni, Charles Nkhoma and Emmanuel Allan among others, while Silver Strikers relied on experienced players like George Chikooka, Nixon Mwase, Chimwemwe Idana and Stain Davie among others.

Silver Strikers made an early substitution in the 25th minute, bringing in Patrick Macheso to counter Moyale’s physical game, but the change failed to yield any goals for either team in the first half.

At halftime, Silver Strikers made three substitutions, introducing Charles Chipala, Chinsinsi Maonga, and Binwell Latinji, but the score remained deadlocked until the final whistle.

The draw leaves Silver Strikers still unbeaten in the league, with 37 points from 15 games , while Moyale Barracks sit in fifth place with 22 points.

Silver Strikers coach Peter Mponda hailed his charges for finishing first round of the TNM Super league without a defeat while his counterpart Moyale Barracks coach Prichard Mwansa said he is impressed with the performance against the Bankers.
