The Malawi Congress Party-MCP says it is impressed with results of the primary elections that the party conducted in three wards in Karonga District ahead of the 26 March 2024 by-elections expected to take place in the wards.
Regional chairperson for MCP North-North, Kezzie Msukwa, has told MBC that this is a sign that people in the country love the party.
According to Msukwa, those that have won the primary elections are King Mvula for Kaporo Ward, Alick Ng’oma for Chilanga Ward and Gift Mwakyelu for Rukuru Ward.
The Malawi Electoral Commission will conduct by-elections in the mentioned wards following the conviction of three former Councillors by the court last year for stealing public funds and other related counts.
