Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has partnered Malawi Bureau of Standards, which will see the latter sponsoring one of MBC’s flagship programmes, Top of the Class.
Through the parternaship, MBS has provided K10 million towards the programme.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Blantyre, Director General of MBS, Bernard Thole, says they intend to raise awareness about standards and quality issues through the programme.
“MBS desires to create a quality culture at national level hence the youth are a better target because once this generation embraces quality, it will be permanent as they will grow with it,” he said.
MBC Director General, George Kasakula, says producing a television programme is costly and therefore such partnerships are paramount in as far as production of quality programing is concerned.
“MBC will provide a platform for MBS to channel out various information and since MBC is the most watched TV and Radio station in Malawi, the messages will reach a larger audience,” he added.
The partnership is for one year, subject to renewal.
