MBC has released top nominees from seven categories of its Entertainers of the Year Awards gala slated for 30 December at BICC in Lilongwe.
The release on Wednesday 6 December in Blantyre comes after weeks of public nominations by dialling *364# to access the seven categories and their subcategories.
Apart from MBC’s Disco Jockey, Joy Nathu and DJ Fraternal, real name Raymond Sekeni, other nominated personalities from the Corporation are Chikondi Phinda, Kizito Kachapila, Saul Rashid, Chisomo Manda, Mwayi Simbota and Mercy Zamawa.
Time’s Brian Banda and Zodiak’s Innocent Kumchedwa along with musicians Driemo, Zeze Kingston and Eli Njuchi have also made it.
According to the Chairperson for the event’s organising Committee, Zilani Khonje Phiri, the public will start today to vote for their ultimate winners in the areas of Music, Drama, Sports Poetry, Media Personality, Film and Social Media.
“Voting lines will be opened anytime today,” added Khonje Phiri who is also the Corporation’s Director of News and Current Affairs.
