Mary’s Meals has unveiled one of Malawi’s top artists, Lawi, as its Global Ambassador at a ceremony held on Friday night in Blantyre.
Mary’s Meals serves nutritious meals to school going children in some of the world’s poorest countries.
With his talent, Lawi will be instrumental in raising awareness about Mary’s Meals programme and the need to support the organization.
Mary’s Meals Country Director Angela Chipeta Khonje said they were excited to have Lawi on board.
“It’s so exciting to have someone from Malawi to share the Malawi story to the world,” she said.
She pointed out that so far, a total of two million children are the ones receiving meals, stressing that their organization would want to reach as many children as possible.
In Malawi, there are five million children in primary schools and Early Child Development Centres.
