Maranatha schools shine with 100% pass rate in JCE results

Maranatha Schools have once again stamped their authority in Malawi’s education sector after producing a 100 percent pass rate in the 2025 Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations.

According to results released by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) on Monday, all candidates from Maranatha Girls’ Campuses in Blantyre and Lilongwe passed, while Maranatha Boys’ Secondary School in Mponela registered a near-perfect score of 98 percent.

The outstanding performance comes at a time when the government and MANEB have been commended for the timely release of both the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) and JCE results, as well as for the improved national pass rates.

Reacting to the results, Maranatha Private Schools Managing Director, Ernest Kaonga, described the achievement as a demonstration of the schools’ commitment to academic excellence.

“Our girls and boys have shown that with dedication, discipline, and the right learning environment, excellence is possible,” said Kaonga .

“At Maranatha, we do not just prepare students to pass examinations, we prepare them to succeed in life. These results are a testimony of the hard work put in by our learners, teachers, and management,” added Kaonga.

Education commentators have observed that the consistent success of private schools such as Maranatha underscores the importance of investment in modern teaching methods, motivated staff, and conducive learning environments.

Kaonga further said with this year’s remarkable results, Maranatha has reinforced its position as one of the country’s leading academic institutions, setting a benchmark for other schools across Malawi.
