Principal Secretary responsible for Unity in the Ministry of Local Government, Unity and Culture, Elizabeth Gomani Chindebvu, has called for collective responsibility among Malawians to drive the country’s development agenda.
Speaking on Tuesday when she opened a Trainers of Trainers workshop for Civic Education in Lilongwe, Gomani Chindebvu stressed the importance of reaching every citizen with the right information and tools to contribute to national progress.
“Every Malawian should be reached with the necessary information to achieve the Malawi 2063 agenda,” she said. “No Malawian should be a spectator. we should all be participants.”
One of the participants, Assistant Community Development Officer for Chikwawa, Peter Chinangwa, described the training as an eye-opener, which will enhance his knowledge on how to train other trainers on mindset change and participation in development issues.
The Directorate of Civic Education convened the three-day Training of Trainers Workshop as part of the Malawi Democratic Governance Programme (Boma Lathu), with support from GOPA Worldwide Consultants and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Malawi.
