The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has now confirmed that the new moon has been sighted today, marking the end of the Ramadan period.
Capital Hill has since announced that the country will be observing the 2024 Eid Ul Fitr public holiday tomorrow, 11 April 2024.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Local Government, Unity and Culture, the ministry has extended good tidings to all muslims, both in the country and in diaspora as well as general public on the occasion.
The day is usually marked with special prayers by the Muslim community as well as carrying out of charity works.
