The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has invested K500 million in innovative ideas over the past year through its Muuni Innovation Fund.
The fund aims to encourage the development of new technologies and communication services that provide local solutions to the country’s challenges.
According to MACRA’s Director General, Daud Suleman, the fund has supported various innovators and aims to build on this success over the next 12 months by turning more innovative ideas into tangible results.
Suleman said this during the Muuni Fund Innovation Expo in Lilongwe, which showcased various innovative projects.
Minister of Information and Digitalisation, Moses Kumkuyu, attended the expo and encouraged stakeholders to support these innovative works, highlighting their importance in achieving a digital economy.
