Faith leaders urged to foster unity

Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs, Reverend Brian Kamwendo, has called on faith leaders to take a leading role in promoting unity in Malawi.

Speaking in Lilongwe at the Empowerment Seminars Services organized by Apostle Mathews Chimwendo Banda, Kamwendo emphasized the importance of faith leaders in achieving the Malawi 2063.

“There is a great need for church leaders to be self-reliant as this can help in the improvement of their lives as well as development of the country,” he said, while he commending the convener for bringing together men of God to share ideas and celebrate his 50th birthday.

Coordinator of the Empowerment Seminar Services, Ken Mtonga, noted that the seminar comes at a crucial time, enabling pastors to explore alternative income sources beyond church members.

He stressed the need for the church to continue supporting the government’s economic transformation efforts.

Apostle Chimwendo Banda’s sermon emphasized the importance of prioritizing God for the country’s transformation.
